- Safely operates paver and screed to achieve the specified paving width, depth and grade.
- Works closely with foreman and other crew members such as dump person, distributor, and roller operators to coordinate work and ensure safety.
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that paver is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and proper lubrication. Performs maintenance and smaller repairs as needed.
- Reports to shop when equipment needs additional maintenance and repair.
- Keeps equipment clean and prepares equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
- Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite.
- Follows Supervisor's instructions closely.
- Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
- An unwavering focus on safety.
- OSHA.
- Willingness to travel throughout West Texas.
- Ability to speak and communicate in English is required.
- Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly work extended | overtime hours, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions at all project locations.
- Travel is required.
