As a Quality Control Specialist, you will perform quality control testing of materials produced during aggregate and asphalt production and report results to the Quality Control team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform material sampling, testing and reporting of results for aggregates, hot mix asphalt and compacted asphalt cored from roadway.
- Assists in selecting and collecting road construction | aggregate samples at specified stages and runs tests.
- Records results of samples using a variety of equipment such as ovens and molds to perform calculations in measuring air voids, gradations and densities.
- Evaluates collection data and works alongside of the lab manager to make adjustments as needed to materials.
- Lab testing will take place in a variety of settings, field labs and project sites.
- Assist with duties as assigned by project supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be organized, detail orientated and able to work independently.
- Good written and communication skills are a must.
- Strong math and computer software skills.
- Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
- Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
- An unwavering focus on safety.
- MSHA | OSHA
- Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa and Eastern Dakotas.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly work extended | overtime hours, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions at all project locations.
- Travel is required.
