Summary/Responsibilities
Laborers are expected to be familiar with Meter Information System codes and form numbers. Will be responsible for housekeeping, forklift use, and palletizing shipments of supplies and equipment. Laborers will sort, process, and retire all incoming equipment and materials. Perform all other tasks assigned by management. Position has call-out responsibilities and must be available to work all hours as needed, day or night, weekends, or holidays, and in all weather conditions. Requires ability to travel and stay overnight to various locations.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Successful completion of the Construction and Skilled Trades Selection System (CAST) test.
- Skilled at using hand tools.
- Must be able to use hand-trucks and forklifts in material handling
- Proficient use of a personal computer.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
Licenses and/or Certificates
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
Physical
- Be able to lift up to 60-pound cartons from floor and store at heights of extended reach overhead.
- Have physical ability to operate all equipment in the warehouse.
- Manual dexterity to operate small hand tools, turn small knobs, etc.
- Ability to move frequently to unload equipment and to install/maintain/repair equipment
- Ability to frequently and repetitively bend/stoop/squat
- Works inside warehouse and outside yard environment including all weather conditions and possibly extreme temperatures
