Responsibilities
Performing financial, accounting, budgeting and business management support activities provided by the Legal Business Operations team
Serving as a primary point of contact for the Corporate Books and Records Group.
Assisting in reviewing work products related to the maintenance of the corporate structure through the formation, restructuring, and dissolution of legal entities; review business requests for changes to entity appointments; perform compliance activities.
Serving as a resource for technical / functional expertise, guidance, and assistance for questions and problems related to financial and business management
Coordinating and leading various special projects, including data requests
Maintaining proper business and financial processes to ensure adherence to internal controls
Contributing to and helping maintain standard process documentation and procedures; identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
Basic / Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Systems Technology, Business, Information Systems or other related degree
In addition to bachelor's degree, three (3) years minimum of related work experience
In lieu of bachelor's degree, high school diploma / GED AND seven (7) years minimum of related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Masters degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology or Information Systems
Skilled in project management theories and principles and capable of reviewing work of others
Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
CPA and / or Certified Internal Auditor and / or Certified Management Accountant and / or Chartered Financial Analyst and / or Certified Project Manager and / or Certified Information Systems Auditor and / or Certified Internal Auditor
Ability to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks, organize, and coordinate work of self and others
Previous experience performing financial reporting, forecasting activities and internal control analysis
Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures
Experience with financial applications (Peoplesoft) and query tools
Experience with complex IT systems
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment
Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

Office environment
Hybrid mobility classification - work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to Duke Energy Plaza.
