Position Summary
This is the second level of the Technical Assistant job classification. At this level an incumbent is expected to have a baseline knowledge of work unit techniques, software, and procedures. The incumbent shall continue to receive training as needed to operate more independently. The incumbent will be expected to perform routine work assignments with higher levels of accuracy and consistency than the previous position.
Responsibilities
* Facilitates communication with internal and external customers to complete technical tasks.
* Maintains and updates technical documentation in accordance with established work procedures.
* Perform technical data requests (compiles, organizes, uploads, etc data in databases and programs, etc).
* Utilizes and maintains software systems (e.g. Fusion, Project Wise, Maximo, Departmental database, etc.) and hardware (printers, plotters, scanners, etc) as necessary for job-specific responsibilities.
* Develops and/or reviews selected correspondence, reports, budgets, invoices, schedules, and/or technical documentation.
* Reviews technical work produced by self and others to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Makes appropriate modifications and recommendations as necessary.
* Perform routine and detail oriented tasks in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
* Appropriately selects and utilizes the most effective tools, methods and technologies to complete assignments.
* Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.
* Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
* Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.
* Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
Required/Basic Qualifications
* Associates degree in Other Technical
* In lieu of Associates degree(s) listed above, High School/GED AND 2 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Basic proficiency in database applications (e.g. Maximo, Fusion, ProjectWise, etc.)
Performance Expectations: "Fully Meets Expectations", "Valued Contributor", or better in last APA rating.
Experience in the utility industry.
Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Working Conditions
Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
