The ideal candidate will have completed ophthalmic technician training and certification as a certified ophthalmic technician by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). A strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and optics is also essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, are required.

Responsibilities
As an Ophthalmic Support Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting preliminary screening examinations for physician review, including visual acuity, history taking, tonometry, lensometry, motility, pupil assessment, visual fields, and simple color vision tests.
- Directing the flow of patients, obtaining medical and personal data for patient charts, and arranging for laboratory and other tests as requested by physicians.
- Providing education and support to patients and families regarding diagnostic procedures and methods of treatment.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, stocking and maintaining equipment, and ensuring the physical environment of exam and procedure rooms meets high standards.
