Engineering Intern (drafting)

ENGINEERING INTERN (drafting)

Job Summary

Duke Manufacturing has a great opportunity for a student in the CAD/Design field. Our CAD internship gives a student the opportunity to work in a department devoted to 3D drafting of custom-built equipment. Students will get the opportunity to assist our Design team on projects and improve their drafting talents and experience while earning a competitive wage.

Essential Functions

• Assists CAD personnel in designing and drawing equipment using AutoCAD in a 3D environment
• Assists in updating CAD standards manual
• Drafts preliminary drawings generated from a brief description of the product
• Assists in revising preliminary drawings as specified by customer to submittal drawings
• Assists in transfers of submittal drawings into final shop drawings
• Provides drawings and renderings of equipment for use in trade shows, guided tours, and literature

Job Qualifications

• Experience: Must be entering or completing final year of studies in a CAD or Engineering Program
• Education: Must be pursuing a CAD/drafting degree/certificate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Must be familiar with AutoCAD Software; SolidWorks and Revit are a plus
