Orthopedic Trauma Program Coordinator
General Description of the Job Class :
The Orthopedic Trauma Program Coordinator plays a critical leadership role within a multidisciplinary team committed to advancing trauma care for vulnerable populations, including victims of gun violence. This role is designed for a dynamic professional capable of driving independent initiatives, forging strategic partnerships, and influencing trauma care strategies across the Duke University Health System (DUHS) and the wider community.
The Orthopedic Trauma Program Coordinator will have the autonomy to design, implement, and evaluate innovative programs aimed at improving health equity and reducing disparities in trauma care. This position will also serve as a key liaison between DUHS and community stakeholders, fostering a cohesive network that enhances patient outcomes and community resilience.
This is a 1 year position, renewable based on grant funding.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Program Development :
- Develop and lead new initiatives to address trauma-related health disparities, leveraging creativity and evidence-based strategies.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of programming, including concept design, resource allocation, execution, and performance assessment.
- Serve as a thought leader, identifying opportunities for program expansion and implementing best practices in trauma care.

Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
Work requires one year of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE involving academic,instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
