General Description
Shift expectations : Day shift; Monday-Friday (8 : 30am-6pm - 8.5 hour shift during that timeframe which includes a 30-minute lunch).
Pharmacy Tech 1
This individual performs, under supervision, a variety of duties in accordance to department procedures, whichmay be related to the procurement, preparation, distribution and storage of drugs, as well as, assisting withclinical pharmacy services according to the Pharmacy's role in ensuring safe medication use.
Pharmacy Tech II
This individual performs, under supervision, a variety of duties in accordance to department procedures, whichmay be related to the procurement, preparation, distribution and storage of drugs, as well as, provision of clinicalpharmacy services according to the Pharmacy's role in ensuring safe medication use.
Individuals eligible for pharmacy technician level II are competent in all tasks associated with pharmacytechnician level I and have achieved the area specific advanced competency requirements. Pharmacy technicianlevel II staff must achieve and maintain certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) orThe Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).

Pharmacy Tech 1 N / A Pharmacy Tech II Minimum of one years related experience.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Pharmacy Tech 1 Must be registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within thefirst 180 days. Pharmacy Tech II North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration is required. Pharmacy Technician certification is required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
