Job Summary:
We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II in our Pediatric Specialty Clinic located in Durham, NC to independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory setting in accordance with the medical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures), administering survey tools, conducting educational assessments (patients/guardians), medication review, assisting patients with preparing questions for provider visit, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting.
- Immunotherapy injections, pulmonary testing and nebulizer treatments.
- Completing procedural tasks including: administering immunotherapy injections, oral immunotherapy, oral medications, oral food challenges according to protocols and provider orders. Monitor patients for potential reactions to therapy administered. Provide patient/family education, bill for nursing procedures.
- Organize and track patient immunotherapy schedules; submit provider orders and reorders for patient IT vials as needed to vendor; receive, unpack, and organize received vials; contact patient to coordinate IT start schedules.
- Documentation in electronic health record.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Job Eligibility Requirements:
- Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification
- Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At the clinical lead or HCA’s discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level
- Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required
Job Schedule:
The schedule for this position is Monday -Friday Day 8 hour shifts and one Saturday per month 8a-12p
