Work Performed
- Complete all training required to work in the lab.
- Participate in weekly BAM lab meetings.
- Participate in weekly Breast Surgery Clinical Outcomes Research meetings.
- Participate in monthly Community Engagement Task Force meetings.
- Attend weekly General Surgery Grand Rounds, Molecular Tumor Board, Breast Tumor Board, and/or Clinical Cancer Genetics Case Conference.
- Participate in relevant webinars sponsored by other groups on topics such as AI, statistical analyses, population health, disparities, etc.
- Collaborate with other lab members and assist with ongoing lab projects (may include data entry, data review, manuscript reviews, manuscript writing and preparation, etc.).
Project-Specific Commitments
- Develop a research project on a topic related to breast cancer, breast cancer risk, breast surgery, and/or cancer genetics.
- Shadow clinical team members with expertise related to the research topic to better understand the topic.
- Create a statistical analysis plan and IRB protocol.
- Obtain data and enter patient cohort into institutional database through manual chart review.
- Work with a statistician to perform statistical analyses of data.
- Write and submit a manuscript related to the project, including associated materials (data supplement, cover letter, etc.).
