As a Caregiver/Direct Support Staff, you will have the fulfilling responsibility of providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with our clients to ensure they receive the highest quality of care and support.

In this role, you will have the chance to accompany our residents throughout the day and on weekends, supporting them as they attend Day Programs, Work Programs, and visit family and friends. Some residents are more independent than others, and we facilitate their community access and interaction with community events to promote their independence and well-being.

Caregiver/ Direct Support Staff Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, (ADLs) as prescribed in their individual service plan including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed by the Nurse
• Plan and prepare meals according to dietary needs and restrictions as directed by the Dietitian.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities
• Work with clients performing assigned recreational activities
• Assist with household chores and maintain a clean and safe living environment
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation

Caregiver/ Direct Support Staff Requirements

• Must be able to read and write in English
• 1 year previous experience in caregiving or direct support required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
