What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Center Director position at Duncannon Assembly of God Child Care Center?
Duncannon Assembly of God Child Care center is seeking an experienced and inspirational individual who is a Christian, knowledgeable, flexible, and well-organized. Must have a passion for working with children in an educational and Christian environment, is able to direct all aspects of our well-established and respected center, which serves infants to school age and includes before and after-school care.
A proven track record of leadership, fiscal, educational and supervisory management, the ability to create a Christian, caring, learning community, and strong communication skills are required. Must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. An understanding of and the ability to enhance family and community relationships is desired. Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to think on your feet, as well as personal and professional integrity are essential.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Have at least 3-5 years’ experience working with both preschool and school-age children in formal or informal educational settings
- Have at least 2- years’ experience in supervising and leading others and meet DHS qualifications for the role. (Director credentials preferred)
- Child abuse clearance, state police clearance, FBI fingerprinting clearance
- Manage administrative tasks related to program operations, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Foster relationships with staff, church, DHS, community partners, and families to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and Keystone STARS standards.
- Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
- Provide training and support to staff to enhance their skills in working with children and parents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as Child Care center director preferred.
- PA Director’s Credential and PQAS certification for training are a plus.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the organization’s mission and values.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting and database programs.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with government agencies, community leaders, and the general public.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment.
