2nd Shift Die Repair / Back-up Supervisor

Job Description: As Die Repair you will be responsible for overseeing die repair on 2nd shift, troubleshooting die issues and process all current and new die builds where needed to meet deadlines. Your role will require strong leadership qualities, a focus ensuring minimal waste, production support, upholding safety, quality standards, and back-up supervisor responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Trouble shoot and repair fixtures and tooling as needed
• Run Tool Rm Equipment: Mill, Machine Center, Grinders, and other as needed
• Welding – Tig and Mig
• Documentation and recordkeeping of die layouts
• Read control plans and blueprints with accuracy
• Drive a hi-lo operate crane to transport dies
• Die Try-out to production to meet customer expectations
• Cut, shape, and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes,
• Ability to use power saws, power shears, micrometers, calipers, height gauge and hand tools.
• Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, and inspection needed for finished dies
• Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates.
• Back-up Supervisor when primary calls-in or on vacation.
• Various other duties as required by the department.

Qualifications:

• Tool and Die experience and bench work
• Strong Troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Supervisory experience

Preferred:

• At least 10 years of tool and die experience
• Knowledge of PLEX System
• Supervisory courses or equivalent experience
• Lean Manufacturing
