Summary
The Preventive Die Repair Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of dies to ensure continuous and efficient production operations. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, minimizing downtime, and improving die longevity. The supervisor will be hands on and lead a team of die repair toolmakers, technicians, maintaining schedules, and directing best practices for die care and repair while demonstrating strong leadership. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Die Inspection & Assessment: Supervise, delegate, and actively participate in die repair, and refurbishment.
- The supervisor will be responsible for the overall performance of the Die Repair department, while actively doing die repair.
- Develop processes with best practices in die repair and implement countermeasures to avoid future issues.
- Regularly inspect dies to identify signs of wear, damage, or potential failure, ensuring proactive repairs.
Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership by training, mentoring, and motivating die repair technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Collaboration: Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and implement effective preventive measures.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations into recurring die failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven years of experience in die maintenance, metal stamping, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- In-depth knowledge of die repair techniques, materials, and tooling.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams with strong leadership and decision-making skills.
