Join Our Team as a Day Camp Site Coordinator!
Are you an experienced leader with a passion for working with children? Do you enjoy planning and overseeing fun, engaging activities while ensuring safety and organization? The Dundee Township Park District is looking for a Day Camp Site Coordinator to supervise staff, coordinate camp activities, and make sure every camper has an unforgettable summer!
What You’ll Do
As a Day Camp Site Coordinator, you’ll:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times, including managing accident reports and addressing safety hazards.
- Lead and support a team of Day Camp Counselors to ensure smooth operation of the program.
- Plan and implement weekly lesson plans, including collecting materials for activities.
- Attend staff orientation, supervisor meetings, and regularly meet with your team to discuss plans and improvements.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on Day Camp Counselors' performance throughout the camp sessions.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for parents, communicating activities, schedules, and any concerns with professionalism.
- Maintain a safe camp environment by adhering to safety policies and loss prevention procedures.
- Stay at the camp site during operational hours, with the exception of attending scheduled meetings or accompanying children to medical facilities when necessary.
- Perform additional tasks as needed, including camp set-up and clean up.
Who You Are
You’re a responsible and reliable leader with:
- A minimum of 18 years of age.
- Previous experience in camps, youth programs, or a related field.
- The ability to lead, train, and evaluate camp staff.
- Strong communication skills to engage with both staff and parents.
- A commitment to safety and risk management.
- A flexible schedule, with the ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
Schedule
- Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with potential adjustments by the Recreation Supervisor.
- Some additional evenings or weekends may be required for meetings and special events.
