This pool is to collect applicants for the 2025-26 school year. At the moment we do not have any open positions available. We do anticipate future openings to occur over the next few months and beyond.
Though we have no current openings our building principals will be constantly reviewing all submitted applications. We do plan to interview candidates over the next few months.
Starting salary for new teachers : $54,000 annually
An additional part of Duneland's application process will be for every new applicant to complete a candidate assessment. This will give Duneland the data to understand each candidate's strengths and likelihood to impact student success, so we can make the best choice for our district's needs. Please allow yourself approximately 1 hour to complete. Must complete at one sitting. The assessment will need to be completed in order for you to submit your application. If you have already completed the assessment within a year you may not be prompted to take it.
SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Provides instruction and strategies within a variety of settings to address the academic and emotional needs of students. Leads an educational program for students in an environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishes effective rapport with students to promote positive attitudes of self-worth; motivates students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further participation in the total school program, in accordance with each student's ability; establishes good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Credential - Valid / active Indiana Teaching License with Mild Interventions
- Experience - working with elementary school students, as well as endorsements in K-4 content preferred
- Education - Bachelor's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements
- Personal Qualities - Highly recommended from student teaching supervisors or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance of the teacher
- Understanding of state and federal regulations and laws serving individuals with disabilities (i.e. Article 7, IDEA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the ADA, etc.)

Work Environment : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Equipment : This position is required to maintain a working knowledge of all instructional equipment. A basic knowledge of operations for computers and software, printers, projectors, smart boards, telephone systems, fax machines and copiers is required.
Hours : The regular teacher day is eight (8) hours except on those days that teachers are involved in a meeting or plan session called by an administrator or team leader or teachers having a student / parent conference. 185 days per year.
Physical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
