The VA is responsible for providing comprehensive onsite and remote support to IT customers across all VA Administrations and special program offices, including direct support of over 340,000 VA employees and thousands of contractors who use government-furnished IT equipment and infrastructure. The VA provides support staff across 100 CONUS and OCONUS locations, including difficult-to-accommodate locales, such as high cost of living or under-supported economic areas, where VA offices or facilities may be located and require onsite services.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in the implementation and ongoing management of their Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) programs within the ServiceNow platform.
- Knowledge of Hardware Asset Management and Software Asset Management.
- Assist in the data migration and configuration of the ServiceNow HAM and SAM modules to align with VA's specific requirements and processes.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of asset management workflows, reports, and dashboards within ServiceNow.
- Assist in the discovery and normalization of hardware and software assets across the VA enterprise.
- Support the creation and implementation of asset management policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with VA technical teams and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and system integrity.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and training activities related to the ServiceNow HAM and SAM implementation.
Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.
Requirements
- AA or 2-year technical school in business discipline or similar discipline is required. (4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Understanding of IT asset management principles and best practices.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred:
- Knowledge or experience with Hardware Asset Management and Software Asset Management within ServiceNow HAM/SAM Pro modules.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or other IT service management (ITSM) platforms.
- Experience working in a government or healthcare environment.
- Experience with ServiceNow HAM and SAM modules.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
Clearance:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
