Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our team immediately at our Forest Hills, PA office. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of HR functions. The intern will provide administrative support and assist with the daily operations of the HR department, with a particular focus on recruitment administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the office in Forest Hills, PA, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
- Provide administrative support to Human Resources management.
- Handle recruitment administrative tasks including scheduling interviews, posting job ads, and maintaining applicant tracking systems.
- Work within HRIS (Paycom) to ensure data integrity, maintain compliance with federal and state requirements, and report accurate and timely information.
- Process employee status changes in the HRIS including new hires, transfers, terminations, and compensation adjustments.
- Assist with payroll processing and serve as a backup when necessary.
- Manage the background check and drug testing process for new hires.
- Provide support with workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.
- Promptly respond to employee questions, demonstrating professionalism and the ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Run ad hoc HR reports as needed.
- Complete employment verifications via phone, email, mail, and fax.
- Support employee recognition programs and assist in planning employee events.
- Provide administrative support for various Operations team projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
- Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems (preferably Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong administrative and data management abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
