The team member we are searching for:
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department’s daily operations.
The ideal candidate believes in and is passionate about Dunlop Sports Americas' mission and commitments and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, and collaboration to ensure success across the organization. Dunlop Sports is a multi-entity structure, and you will work closely with a team of accountants to manage financial functions, including accounts payable, monthly close, cost accounting, bank reconciliations and tax form preparation. In addition, our ideal candidate would be hands on in managing the review of the Company’s entities during the monthly close process. Accuracy and timeliness is critical for success in this role. Opportunity to work side by side with retiring Accounting Manager before taking over full responsibility of team.
Job Overview
- Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable, general ledger, inventory, payroll and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee month end close and assist in preparing financial statements and reporting packages in a timely manner.
- Assist in coordinating with outside accounting firm and providing support and evidence on an ad hoc basis.
- Participate in building out a more robust cost accounting system.
- Participate in regular tax form preparation and yearly tax review.
- Assist in the budgeting process, applying accounting knowledge and work with business leads.
- Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records.
- Assist in accounting policies and procedures that align with company’s targets.
- Ensure compliance with all required reports and monthly submissions.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-6 years’ work experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of cost accounting
- Intermediate knowledge of policy application and adherence.
- Has had direct reports or managed a team in accounting/finance.
- Manufacturing or consumer goods background preferred.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- CPA or CPA (inactive) preferred, but not required.
- JSOX (or US SOXs) experience preferred, but not required.
- IFRS experience preferred, but not required.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
- Microsoft Office (excel, word, PowerPoint).
- Familiar with ERP systems (JD Edwards and NetSuite a plus)

An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Occasionally required to kneel, climb, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always wear the appropriate safety equipment, including gloves, glasses, aprons, belts, etc.
