POSITION PURPOSE The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in directing and coordinating activities of multiple departments, including: guest room services, guest services, food and beverage, maintenance and sales. The Assistant General Manager operates according to company policies and procedures to maximize profits, minimize expenses and ensure guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serve in the role of General Manager when he/she is absent from the business and perform duties specific to that position.
- Coordinate activities in multiple departments, including: guest room services, guest services, food and beverage, maintenance and sales.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and ensure that staff adheres to the aforementioned to meet business goals and objectives.
- Review and approve the daily sales report and other company reports ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
- Review and approve all department payables ensuring accuracy and compliance with the budget.
- Assist the General Manager in addressing and resolving daily operational issues to ensure guest and hotel satisfaction.
- Inspect guest rooms and common areas regularly to ensure the highest standards are met for guest satisfaction, maximized profits and minimized expenses.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Prepare for and attend management meetings as necessary.
- Serve as a positive, property ambassador to external and internal audiences.
- Coordinate company events to encourage inter-department involvement according to established policies and procedures.
- Conduct site visits to ensure sites are adhering to company policies and procedures and guests are satisfied.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS
- Perform payroll function for all departments ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of wages. Track all vacation requests ensuring fair and accurate distribution of time off.
- Hire and terminate staff as needed according to established company policies and procedures.
- Develop and coach staff for overall business improvement and high employee performance.
- Oversee training for staff in multiple departments, including: guest room services, guest services, food and beverage, maintenance and sales according to established policies and procedures.
