What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Initiatives Specialist On-call DuPage County Narcan Program position at DuPage County Health Department?
Our Public Health Services Unit is adding an on-call position to the team to work as a Community Initiatives Specialist on the DuPage County Narcan Program. In this role, you will be supporting the activities and community outreach for community-based programs. Other duties include collecting and analyzing data and preparing reports which may be used to support program goals. This position will be at our Central Public Health Center in Wheaton.
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Information, or a related field, and two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The position performs essential on-site functions and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
Attendance at paid HR New Hire orientation in Wheaton, is required.
- Provides support to the DuPage Narcan Program to increase public access to Narcan.
- Provides education on overdose response and prevention.
- Works in the field to support DuPage Narcan Program partners and residents.
- Makes community presentations regarding program goals and objectives
- Attends regional events and meetings to support program.
- Monitors and tracks program data and outcomes.
- Prepares regular status reports for related advisory boards and/or grant funding requirements.
- Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to patient privacy laws.
- Demonstrates sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures.
- Available to respond to clients and/or customers, either in person or over the phone, during assigned business hours.
