What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Medical Services Supervisor position at DuPage County Health Department?
Nurse Leadership Opportunity at DuPage County Health Department!
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Crisis Services leadership team as the Crisis Medical Services Supervisor. In this role, you will provide direct oversight to nurses and nursing support staff while coordinating shift operations to meet service demands at our existing Crisis Services facility and the upcoming Crisis Recovery Center (CRC), set to open in late summer 2025. This position will serve a vital role on the development and implementation of the new Substance Use program, including protocols, training, and client care strategies to ensure high-quality, evidence-based services.
The Crisis Recovery Center (CRC) is the critical next step in DuPage County Health Department’s decades-long journey to build the infrastructure needed to support a best-in-class behavioral health system and ensures all DuPage County residents will have “someone to call, someone to respond, and somewhere to go” when experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. The CRC will help residents de-escalate, stabilize, and connect to community resources catered to their individual mental health and substance use treatment needs. The building design and operations will ensure individuals and their families feel welcome, respected, and secure throughout every step of their care. The CRC serves as an alternative to hospital emergency departments and simplifies access to crisis care for all individuals, families, and first responders. Please go to the Crisis System Expansion page on the DCHD Website for additional information.
This full-time position is 40 hours per week, primarily scheduled Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm with occasional adjustments to hours and flexibility as needed to meet the needs of the staff and program. This role also includes on-call responsibilities.
Can you say benefits? This position offers a full DuPage County benefit package which includes 12 paid holidays, 3 weeks of paid vacation per year, and paid sick time. This is also a pension-eligible position, and we are a qualifying employer under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
