DuPont has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an America Tyvek® Application Development Engineer in the Tyvek® Roll Goods line of business.
This position reports to the Global Technology Leader, Tyvek® Roll Goods and will collaborate closely with external customers to support current applications in terms of quality and technical services and will support new product application development. This position will be located at our Tyvek® manufacturing site in Richmond (VA).
This position requires at least 25% domestic traveling.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Support customers and internal teams for product quality related questions in relationship to Tyvek® Roll Good applications.
Provide effective technical support to customers on application related questions.
Provide fitness for use assessment in internal management of change processes.
Support management of change projects.
Support development of technical channel partners and distributors within targeted market segments.
Serve as the subject matter expert for internal and external customers stakeholders.
Develop in-depth understanding of the competitive technology environment.
Prepare/contribute to product literature, sales tools, and case stories for new and existing products.
Conduct technical trainings and/or seminars for distributors and customers.
Write and publish technical papers/articles for selected conferences/tradeshows.
Support our innovation pipeline for Tyvek® Roll Goods applications by:
Working hand in hand with marketing and sales to collect market-back insights.
Understanding customer needs and translating into innovative product solutions, meeting application performance and cost in-use requirements, and collaborating with R&D to develop new products to meet current and future needs.
Driving technically longer-term growth projects in Tyvek® Roll Goods applications in a disciplined manner.
Continuously monitoring competitive, technical and customer trends
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in materials science chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields. Master's degree in materials science chemistry, chemical engineering, or a comparable field preferred.
Competency in packaging science, nonwovens, films, coatings, printing, and adhesives required.
5+ years’ experience in packaging, printing industry or manufacturing settings.
Six Sigma training, statistics competence or certifications are a positive
Demonstrated experience leading projects.
Computer Literacy: PowerPoint and Excel Savvy

Salary : $90,000 - $117,000
