Laboratory Technologist
Within the Electronics and Industrial (E&I) organization at the Experimental station, we are looking to reinforce our team to support the DuPont™ Kalrez® product line. This business focus on high-performance parts that provide sealing solutions in various industries, including chemical, life sciences, aerospace, energy and electronics.
Within our ESL R&D team, we are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician, Kalrez® at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE.
This shift for this position is Monday – Friday, 8-hours per day with occasional overtime as needed.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to :
New Product Development & Research and Development
Follow all safety requirements on all high hazard equipment
Safely support Research and Development in creating new Kalrez® elastomer products. Engage in tasks like compound preparation, molding, extrusion, testing, and possibly assist with technical drawings and programming tests.
Rheology testing
Support and improve processing techniques to expand the custom part offerings of Kalrez®.
Complete data generation program to support the promotion of Kalrez® parts. Create comprehensive test report and analyze results.
Assess new ingredients and processing methods to improve Kalrez® manufacturing.
Basic troubleshooting of mechanical equipment
Various other tasks as assigned by supervision are require as a part of the daily routine to maintain safe operation and area standards (i.e. general housekeeping, etc.).
Your qualifications profile :
The following qualifications are Required :
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing OR semi-work experience.
Mechanical background with competences in rubber are needed for this position.
Must be flexible, adaptable, dependable, reliable, and must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to follow written instructions, basic arithmetic, and keep written logs.
Must be physically fit, be able to stand for 8-hour shifts, lift up to 50 lbs. and have a medical clearance.
Ability to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toed shoes, hardhat, Nomex® clothing, protective eyewear, face shields, hearing protection, thermal protective clothing and respirator as needed
Previous knowledge of chemical safety protocols are required.
Language skills : Basic English, other languages welcome.
The following qualifications are Preferred :
Knowledge in numerical lathe milling.
