POSITIONSUMMARY :
The Director of MedicalEducation will supervise and facilitate the daily operations of the Office ofMedical Education at the Duquesne University College of Osteopathic Medicine(DUQCOM). The position will require significant interaction with students,staff, and faculty, and an amicable professional demeanor is essential. Theposition reports to the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment andAssociate Dean for Academic Affairs
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Support the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Assessment andthe Associate Dean for Academic Affairs on operation of the Office of MedicalEducation in achieving the mission of the College of Medicine.
Provide operational support for the Office of Academic Excellencewith respect to student learning, support, and peer tutoring.
Work collaboratively with the Office of Student Affairs and theOffice of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with respect to student wellness andsupport.
Assist with the strategic planning process to foster a culturethat promotes positive learning and student success.
Supervise and advise the Medical Education Specialists.
Supervise the posting of all teaching materials, including onlinecourse material.
Assure that all classroom resources and electronics are in properworking order, and monitor the aesthetics of the classroom. Notify facilitiespersonnel for any necessary maintenance to electronics and classroom resources,and remove dated items from the classroom.
Oversee the compilation, formatting, and administration of allclassroom exams.
Review all item analysis from exams with faculty and determinewhen to post grades for students, and work collaboratively with the Office ofAssessment regarding the evaluation of performance outcomes.
Participate in the process of quality improvement of thecurriculum based on course outcomes and faculty recommendations.
Maintain and calculate current grades in all classroom andlaboratory courses.
Submit all final grades to the Medical Registrar.
Coordinate process by which students assess faculty instruction.
Organize and maintain Office of Medical Education files andrecords.
Maintain an up to date list of student and faculty access forCanvas, Altus, and Banner.
Develop and manage academic and block calendars and course syllabi,to ensure they are complete and accurate prior to release.
Participate in review and revision of policies and procedurespertinent to the Office of Medical Education.
Participate in student events including White Coat ceremony,graduation, orientation, accepted student's day, etc.
Serve on College and University committees as assigned by the COMDean.
Communicate effectively with all levels of faculty and students.
Allother responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum qualifications :
Master's degree in Education orequivalent froman accredited institution.
Experience in administrativemanagement or leadership position in a medical school or other institute ofhigher education
