Position: Full Time; reports to the Senior Director US Food
Overview: We are seeking a highly talented, ambitious, committed Associate Director, Food Central and CatMan with a proven track record to strategically partner with multi-functional teams, customer teams, and retailers to develop winning category growth solutions and capabilities for our selling teams and retail partners. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual, with Sales Management and Category Development experience that will enable us to deliver a competitive advantage to our customers by driving retailer category growth, and contributing to their category strategies, while enabling our brand to disproportionately win.
Job Scope:
- Develop and lead a team of two Account Executives calling on Wholesalers, Distributors, Regional Grocery Chains, to hit sales KPIs. Lead team of two Category Development Managers as a Segment CatMan “Center of Excellence”. Maintain the broker relationship with Crossmark at the Client Director Level.
- Support the Sr. Director and SVP/GM on Segment-wide and cross-segment analytical and market forecasting needs
- Work collaboratively with multi-functional and cross-segment teams to deliver selling capabilities, tools, and scorecard solutions benefiting the Food Segment and team members to achieve 1) our goal of profitable category growth and share growth and 2) simplification & automation to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Serve as member of the US Food leadership team and own/partner to deliver against key segment strategies to consumer research, Pricing, Store Distribution (depth of distribution) and assortment (depth of assortment),
- Lead team responsible for leveraging data to develop data-based sales decks, case studies, and category trends to support strategic segment opportunities/barriers and provide actionable recommendations to Customers.
- Strong analytical ability and extensive knowledge of category management: turn raw data into actionable customer insights, business planning/programs proposal, and customer selling decks. Ability to engage with the customer at all levels to influence leveraging data.
- Manage 4 direct reports: Two Category Development Managers, Two Account Executives
Qualifications:
Experienced and ambitious, strategic thinking Category Development and Sales Leader with a solid track record of delivering profitable category growth and customer business development.
- 6 years of account management and category development experience within CPG (a highly reputable company with a track record of developing top-notch sales leaders is preferred).
- Proven track record in building the business and internal/external relationships in a complex, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in the use of consumption databases i.e. Nielsen & IRI. Very familiar with consumer panel data and shopper data (shopper insights) i.e. Nielsen/IRI Homescan, Dunnhumby, Spectra
- Working knowledge of space management programs
- Strong Proven communication skills in the areas of public speaking, persuasion, handling conflict/objections, presentation building & written modeling trust and respect
- Available to travel
