Job Title: Thermal Spray Technician
Summary:
Hours: 11 pm-7:30 am (3rd Shift), Sunday-Thursday
Compensation: Shift Differential on top of base pay
Training: 7:30 am-3:30 pm, for roughly a week.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Thermal Spray Technician who applies specialized coatings to various components and surfaces using thermal spray processes. These coatings enhance the properties of the underlying material, providing resistance to wear, corrosion, heat, and other forms of degradation.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation: Setting up, operating, and adjusting various thermal spray equipment.
- Surface Preparation: Preparing surfaces for coating application through methods like cleaning, degreasing, and grit blasting to ensure proper adhesion.
- Material Handling: Ensuring the correct selection, mixing, and handling of coating materials (powders, wires, or liquids).
- Coating Application: Applying coatings according to specific procedures and parameters to achieve desired thickness, uniformity, and quality.
- Monitoring and Quality Control: Monitoring the spray process to ensure it runs smoothly and identifying any issues. Inspecting finished coatings for defects and verifying they meet specifications using various measuring instruments.
- Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on thermal spray equipment.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of the coating process, materials used, and inspection results.
- Safety: Adhering to strict safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) due to the potentially hazardous nature of the work environment (heat, fumes, noise).
Essential Skills:
- Technical Aptitude: Understanding of mechanical systems, material science, and the principles of thermal spray processes.
- Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various thermal spray equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in surface preparation, coating application, and quality control.

- Many technicians receive on-the-job training from their employers.
