What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Term Substitute - Spanish Language Teacher at Miller MS Feb 24 - May 2, 2025 position at Durango School District 9-R?
Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for a Long Term Substitute Spanish Language Teacher at Miller Middle School for the second semester of the 24/25 school year. Colorado teaching license or substitute authorization required. Colorado teaching license with a Spanish Langauge endorsement or a demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Spanish preferred. Substitute assignment starts February, 2025 through May 2, 2025.
NOTE - the regular Spanish Language Teacher will be on site during this long-term substitute assignment however will be assigned to other administrative duties to assist while the assistant principal is away on parental leave.
The rate for long-term substituting is $265 per day.
Requirements include:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license. A 3- or 5-year Colorado substitute authorization may also accepted for a candidate with demonstrated Spanish langauge proficiency as outlined above. - Experience working with students in a classroom setting strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication, basic language, basic math, and basic writing skills.
- Minimum of two professional or academic references. We do not accept family or friends as references.
