What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Support Technician II, 1.0 FTE position at Durango School District 9-R?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Support District instructional staff to deliver a high level of service and customer satisfaction.
- Support and promote Google Workspace for Education.
- Research and develop procedures to improve and enhance classroom technology use and performance.
- Maintain and repair district computers and technology devices.
- Assist with District email and network connections on District devices.
- Retrieve and deliver District computer equipment for installation, maintenance and/or repair.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of parts for maintenance and repair of District technology equipment. Maintain equipment repair and maintenance records for District computers.
- Assure work is completed in a professional and safe manner in compliance with District and industry standards.
- Perform as the primary technician for multiple schools concurrently.
- General knowledge and familiarity with networking concepts to help provide troubleshooting connectivity.
- Install, maintain, and support essential district instructional and administrative software.
- Create, maintain and deploy District hardware images for new and existing PC’s and Mac’s.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Experience as a help desk or technology support technician supporting computer hardware, Chrome, Windows and MacOS operating systems, computer applications software and mobile devices would be valuable.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Valid Colorado driver’s license required. Google Educator Fundamentals and A certifications required within six months of hire. Criminal Background Check required for hire.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Advanced computer troubleshooting, analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Ability to learn multiple programs and systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, occasionally in urgent situations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education, Superintendent, and building/department procedures. Page 2 of 2
- Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with clients
- Experience with Chrome/Windows/MAC-based computer systems and mobile devices is helpful.
- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
