Position Summary
As the Cost Accountant, you will join the Finance Team and work under the direction of the Controller. We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to work under the direction of the Controller. You must be able to work with the highest levels of integrity.
The Cost Accountant will help Durex collect and analyze data, estimate costs of new and existing product lines and prepare regular reports. Principal Activities
- Collect and analyze data about a company’s operational costs.
- Develop overhead rates and absorption.
- Analyze and estimate costs of new and existing product lines.
- Analyze item cost and ensure accuracy.
- Analyze manufacturing variances.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards and regulations.
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor the inventory system
- Reduce obsolete material and inventory excess
- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
- Forecast and plan future purchasing costs according to fiscal needs.
- Creates and maintains account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements by required deadlines.
- Review account reconciliations prepared by others.
- Assist with preparing the month-end intercompany balancing report for corporate reporting and communicating with international units on variances.
- Assist with completing monthly and quarterly indirect (sales and use) tax filings and research with the Tax Team.
- Assists with the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
- Assists in the consolidation of global results utilizing the TM1 reporting system.
- Assists in the yearly audit and tax return preparation.
- Performs various projects and analyses as required.

Candidate Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience as a Cost Accountant or experience in a similar role.
- An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a specific focus on cost accounting is required.
- Excellent knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
- Robust account reconciliation and analysis skills are required.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
- Be results focused, self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable to complete assigned tasks.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs.
- Proven work experience communicating clearly and effectively in a professional business environment verbally, electronically, and written with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge and experience in MRP/ERP systems; use of MS Dynamics ERP is preferred.

The work environment includes working in an office and production environment; may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, heat and moderate noise from machinery while on the production floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but occasional visits to areas with high noise levels or other physical hazards will require the use of personal protective equipment. Safety glasses with side shields and steel-toe shoes are required on the production floor.
Work requires meeting performance deadlines and being exact or highly accurate; requires face-to-face interaction with individuals or teams, negotiating, reasoning and influencing others in a group or team using a participative management style with well-developed interpersonal skills.
This position is also an ‘onsite’ position and will require the employee to physically be located in our 190 office building.
