RESPONSIBILITIES :
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Responds to work orders for repair of plumbing fixtures within County facilities.
- Installs and / or repairs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, water heaters, water coolers and other plumbing fixtures such as sinks, faucets and toilets.
- Analyzes defects or malfunctions in plumbing systems, identifies the problem and performs the necessary repairs.
- Reviews building plans and inspects structures to assess material and equipment needed for the installation of pipes.
- Inspects and repairs circulating pumps and recommends replacement as needed.
- Provides cost estimates for repairs, installations, and maintenance.
- Orders and maintains required materials and supplies.
- Demonstrates, models, and actively engages in the alignment and execution of the County's Strategic Plan Initiatives to ensure the objectives of the core goals are achieved to benefit Durham County employees, citizens, and the environment.
- Performs related work as assigned.
