General Description
The purpose of this job is to perform responsible clerical work involving the listing and recording of taxed properties or with the receipt of taxes and fees and the preparation and / or maintenance of fiscal or related records.
This position works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by one (1) year of experience in customer service, public service, or general office or clerical assistance; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Special Certifications and Licenses :
Must obtain Assistant Tax Collector certification within two (2) years of eligibility, if position is in Collections
