What are the responsibilities and job description for the NC EdCorps Tutors position at Durham Public Schools?
About the job
Corps members will work part-time as reading tutors for elementary school students between kindergarten and third grade. Following NCEC’s high-impact tutoring guidelines, tutoring will take place in a 1:1 or small group setting to emphasize social- emotional learning and maximize impact. Tutoring curriculum and activities are provided by the school and are grounded in the science of reading and reading instruction.
Each corps member will be assigned a Learning Coach who will lead them through initial and ongoing learning during their school-year commitment. Learning sessions will build knowledge around high-impact tutoring, tutor-student relationship, and the science of reading and the delivery of reading instruction.
