The Assistant Production Supervisor is on Alt-Shift (4, 10-hour shifts, Monday – Thursday, 7:30pm – 6:00am)
Starting rate is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
Job Summary:
This position will provide support to Production management with teaching interpersonal, organizational and technical skills to production employees (Temporary and Full Time). Assistant production supervisor will employee operational best practices, continuous improvement techniques, and equipment reliability in accordance with SQF standards.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, and leads work groups to meet production schedules
- Responsible for food safety
- Maintains safe working conditions, follows safe work practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Collaborates with leadership team to identify training needs; articulates problem-solving actions and goals
- Trains, develops, instructs and motivates employees to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity
- Provides one-to-one mentoring support to production employees
- Provides mechanical support, including equipment troubleshooting and repair, using root cause analysis
- Analyzes production methods and processes; provides feedback to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality
- Understands all applicable company policies, standards and procedures; communicates to all employees in area of responsibility to ensure compliance
- Other duties as assigned including serving as a backup for critical job functions that ensure compliance with SQF
- In the occasion(s) when key personnel responsible for designated role is absent, someone of appropriate authority and experience has been assigned to cover their nominated duties to ensure the integrity of the SQF System
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Education:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Supervisor/Team Leader, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Possess basic knowledge of electricity, pneumatics, and mechanics (recognize tripped breaker, open fuse, change belts, replace broken or leaking valve, etc.)
- Experience in Packaging Equipment Set Up and Operator Maintenance is a plus
- Must be self-motivated
- Must possess exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Must possess excellent communication skills and have an attention to detail
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Sanitation must be a high priority
- Ability to stand on feet for entire shift
- Safety Sensitive Position
Must be available to work 4, 10-hour shifts, Monday – Thursday, 7:30pm – 6:00am
