Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our company. The accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing accurate financial information to support the company’s decision-making processes. This role requires a deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting:
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and perform variance analysis to explain differences between actual and budgeted figures.
- Cost Accounting:
- Monitor and analyze cost structures in the manufacturing process, ensuring accurate allocation of overheads, labor, and materials.
- Perform standard cost analysis and track variances to ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Review and manage inventory cost accounts, conducting regular audits to reconcile inventory levels with financial records.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate billing, invoicing, and payment processes.
- Maintain vendor relationships and monitor cash flow to ensure timely payment of bills and receipt of customer payments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Tax and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including filing of sales tax, VAT, and other statutory reports.
- Assist with audits and work with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations.
- Financial Analysis:
- Provide financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis, cost control measures, and process improvements.
- Conduct financial modeling to evaluate the impact of various business scenarios on the company’s financial position.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and reducing operational costs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in inventory management, costing, and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
