All candidates must live no more than 20 minutes from the AH East location to be considered
Contractors will be driving an 8-passenger GOLF CART or 16 passenger van to transport people from the parking area to the hospital entrance.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Shuttle Driver Duties - Shall provide shuttle services for scheduled bus trips over a pre-determined route between Advent Health and campus facilities. These trips are for the purpose of transporting employees, students, visitors and family members. The shuttle driver duties may not always be required.
Transporter Duties – Personally facilitates the movement of patients or patient related items, in the most expeditious, professional, and customer service oriented manner possible, using the most expedient method. When there are no shuttle driver responsibilities, transportation duties become a priority.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of passengers from Advent Health to campus facilities, making scheduled bus trips on pre-determined routes, adhering to all local and state traffic laws. Ensures that vehicle is in suitable condition (e.g., clean, refueled, used items replaced).
· Displays a friendly, courteous disposition. Communicates appropriately to adolescents, adult, and geriatric patients.
· Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients from area to area via stretcher, wheelchairs, beds and cribs. Facilitates the efficient and expedited movement of patient related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment.
· Assists in the safe transfer of customers (such as: from bed to stretcher or wheelchair).
· Accurately records the transport and reports the necessary information by correctly using the Team Chimes phone system.
· When requested, carries non-narcotic medication from Pharmacy or Radiology to the designated care area. Hands the medication to the appropriate care giver.
· Ensures the hallways are maintained clear of clutter related to wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, mattresses, transportation carts, and cribs by moving equipment not in use to designated equipment storage areas.
· Maintains competencies related to annual completion of BARE facts, NPSG’s, PPD’s, and CPR refresher course.
· Using good judgment.
· Properly utilizes PPE, and follows HIPPA, OSHA, and Advent Health’s Policies and Procedures.
· Performs other duties and maintains a safe, courteous and clean environment for all passengers, patients, visitors, and staff.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Shuttle Driver:
· Knowledge of all local and state traffic laws.
· Able to sit part of the work day
· Able to hear well and have good attention span
· Able to maintain control on the shuttle at all times
· Protection of all passengers from abuse and harassment
Transporter:
· People Skills: Able to understand customer needs and respond to them in a pro-active, courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
· Communications: Read, write speak appropriately in English using good diction, and respond
to peoples needs in a pleasant and courteous way as perceived by the customer.
· Technical Skills: Able to operate stretcher, beds, and wheelchairs.

· Previous driving experience
· Customer service experience
· High school Diploma or GED
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· State of Florida Class “E” driver’s license and driving record in accordance with AH policy.
· If driving leased vehicle, must be 25 years of age or older.
