Pathways Health Partners is an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) at the forefront of helping independent providers transition to Value-Based Care. Pathways operates a Medicare REACH ACO, a Medicare Advantage MSO, a Commercial MSO responsible for approximately 16,000 patients throughout North-West/Central Florida. Our service area is The Villages, down to St. Petersburg, across to Mount Dora, and areas in between. Pathways also operates a robust hospital medicine group, manages several of its affiliated medical practices, and an insurance agency.
Job Summary
The Courtesy Shuttle Driver will transport patients of the ACO, within the greater Ocala and Lecanto areas.
Role and Responsibilities
- Convey passengers to and from predetermined locations
- Assist passengers in loading and unloading their luggage into the vehicle
- Maintain appropriate conversation with passengers and assist them where needed
- Answer passengers’ questions in a polite and respectful manner
- Maintain constant communication with dispatch and/or manager
- Maintain vehicles and carry out regular safety checks daily or as directed
- Repair minor faults and report major problems, accidents, or damage to the vehicle to dispatch, manager, and technician
- Pay tolls and other levies required of drivers while operating the vehicle
- Obey all traffic rules and regulations guiding the operation of courtesy shuttle services in assigned areas.
- Dress neatly and professionally using Pathways-provided uniforms
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and clean driving history (no points) Required
- Passed a safe driving school within 12 months or complete within 30 days of hire
- Some healthcare or caretaking experience preferred
Preferred Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills: A courtesy shuttle driver is a host to the passengers and needs more than just good communication skills. The shuttle driver must sustain a meaningful conversation with onboard passengers and be calm and willing to help passengers embark, disembark, or assist as needed.
- Ability to work in a highly demanding environment, multitask and prioritize effectively while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- At least 2 years’ hands-on experience driving shuttles consisting of an 8-passenger van or larger.
- Proven knowledge of traffic laws guiding the operation of courtesy shuttles
- Basic math skills required for proper documentation of trips and other work details
