Overview:
Denver Wholesale Florist (DWF), is a Denver based national wholesale and distribution company seeking a motivated, dynamic, customer service-oriented Bookkeeper for the DWF Flint location. The Bookkeeper ensures that the financial records are prepared accurately and timely for the branch. This position is critical to Denver Wholesale Florists; the Bookkeeper ultimately impacts the long-term success of the company by providing outstanding service to internal and external customers while helping ensure positive cash flow and minimizing risk to the company.
Must have previous high-volume bookkeeping experience and/or experience utilizing accounting and bookkeeping programs. QuickBooks is non applicable experience.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Creates new customer accounts.
- Responds to new customer inquiries.
- Supports sales representatives and prepares invoices.
- Answers customer questions regarding accounts.
- Reviews prior day sales invoices and matches payments.
- Files sales invoices.
- Processes customer returns and issues credit memos.
- Prepares and processes deposits, balances credit cards, scans checks and posts deposits.
- Monitors delinquent accounts.
- Communicates with customers, coordinates and monitors payment plans, places collection calls, resolves account issues and informs Branch Manager when accounts exceed a determined dollar ($) amount.
- Participates in monthly credit review meetings with Branch Manager, Credit Manager and CFO.
- Costs and receives inventory purchase orders, adjusts inventory and enters purchase orders
- Matches vendor invoices to month-end statements.
- Files claims with carriers or vendors for missing and/or damaged product.
- Updates inventory reports.
- Ensures accuracy of fuel reports.
- Processes expense invoices.
- Reconciles petty cash, ensures cash drawer balances and deposits cash in the bank account.
- Records manual checks.
- Prepares a weekly package for the corporate office to include: manual checks, utility bills, freight bills, invoices with discounts, accounts receivable postings and other correspondences.
- Ensures monthly invoices are forwarded to the corporate office.
- Ensures employees enter time accurately.
- Orders office supplies as needed.
Team Responsibilities:
- Forms strong working relationships with branch team members and the corporate office, treating each person with respect.
- Maintains confidentiality of customer information, 100% of the time.
- Meets with Branch Manager to review projects and outcomes.
- Brings issues and solutions to Branch Manager within 24 hours.
- Performs other duties as needed such as pulling orders, cleaning coolers, etc.

Working Conditions:
- Constant to frequent standing and/or walking.
- Frequent periods of remaining seated.
- Occasional need of lifting or carrying (up to 25 lbs.).
- Occasional periods of working inside a cooler with temperature ranging between 32 and 45 degrees.
- Extended hours during busy season, as needed.
