Description
The Plant Planner & Scheduler II located in Wolcott, IN reports to our Plant Manager and is responsible for using the plant MRP to determine inventory needs and take appropriate action to ensure OTS, cycle count and inventory reduction targets are achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze the plant MRP to identify actions to be taken as needed. Work in conjunction with the plant supervisor and corporate production control to correct inventory errors associated with the MRP. Maintains MRP as needed. Investigate and recommend ideas to improve the MRP system.
- Use MRP and Interplant Action Required Report (IARR).
- Investigate and correct inventory inaccuracies and assists in identifying problems and suggesting solutions. Make line stock adjustments and create Engineering Change requests to correct BOM errors as deemed necessary.
- Review all Engineering Change Requests and Defective Material Reports and take appropriate action with inventory, line stock quantities and purchase orders.
- Escalate material shortages to proper purchasing personnel and assist with developing appropriate corrective actions.
- Use MRP, review and analyze purchased material requirements and release purchase orders to purchasing based upon this review.
- Expedite incoming material to satisfy customer delivery requirements. Coordinates parts between plants and calls on availability (expedite) of incoming material. Work closely with Production Coordinator, purchasing, and other Dwyer manufacturing facilities to satisfy production schedules.
- Resource to stockroom/shipping/receiving personnel by providing guidance and assistance in problem solving. Perform necessary related tasks when personnel are absent.
- Ensure that due diligence is exercised when cycle-count variances are discovered.
- Actively pursues goal of 100% on-time delivery performance.
- Follows up with purchasing and / or QC to ensure effective corrective actions are put in place for vendor DMR’s.
- Provide timely and quality services and support to all internal and external customers
- Responsible for accurate and timely shipments of raw materials to vendors and contract manufacturers.
- Organize work areas before, during and after assignment.
- Assists with sustainment audits for all improvement initiatives put in place within the plant.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Requires a good understanding of manufacturing processes and ERP systems.
- Must be a US citizen or have authorization to work in the US issued by the Department of Homeland Security.
- Must be able to effectively and efficiently communicate with team.
- Demonstrated superior computer skills in spreadsheets, documents and mainframe usage.
- Requires good organizational and communication skills.
