What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at DXP Enterprises?
Responsibilities of the Buyer include, but are not limited to:
· Sourcing product – Identifying optimal source of supply through the utilization of DXP’s tier one vendor base using our “Drive the Spend” guidance
· Respond to customer inquiries regarding company products and services
· Inventory control – Analyze and establish reorder points and reorder quantities
· Develop optimal sources for stock and non-stock items per SOPs. Execute, monitor, and expedite purchase orders as required.
· Maintenance of items in inventory management system
· Monitor quality and delivery performance of suppliers. Participate in Supplier performance reviews.
· Complete and Monitor reports including inventory, procurement, and supplier performance metrics.
· Participate in Special Projects as directed, to include process improvement teams.
· Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications of the Buyer include, but are not limited to:
· Minimum two-year degree (AS/AA) or trade school certification required
· One or more years of MRO product experience
· 1-3 years purchasing experience· Inventory Management
· Good analytical and math skills· Proficiency with computers, specifically Microsoft Office Suite: Word and Excel
· SAP and Prophet 21 experience preferred
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· High level of customer service skills· Able to multi-task and work independently
· Able and willing to work in an industrial environment
