What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Writer position at DXP Enterprises?
Responsibilities of the Service Writer include, but are not limited to:
- Responding to internal and external customer inquiries regarding rotating equipment repairs and service work.
- Obtaining parts lists, serial records, IO&M manuals, etc. for our service technicians
- Checking availability of stock and shipping dates
- Quoting prices, creating orders to customer specifications and processing sales data via computer
- Assisting the Outside Sales by preparing price quotes and sourcing products
Qualifications of the Service Writer include, but are not limited to:
- Pump/rotating equipment knowledge or mechanical aptitude a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Prior inside sales/customer service experience a plus
- Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment
- Must have friendly, positive, enthusiastic attitude with willingness to learn
- Must have and demonstrate a customer focus and customer driven attitude
- Must be able to work independently while functioning within a team environment.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to read and interpret manufacturer instruction manuals and equipment bill of materials.
- Must be willing to learn and develop.
