The Off-Road Equipment Technician/Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining** various types of heavy off-road construction and material-handling equipment, including loaders, excavators, and aggregate production equipment. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on off-road equipment, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and improve performance.
- Operate diagnostic tools to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage processes to locate and order necessary parts efficiently
- Collaborate with operations teams to schedule repairs and minimize disruptions.
- Keep a clean and organized work environment while adhering to BARD safety standards.
- Provide technical expertise and support to other team members when needed.
- High school diploma or GED required; **Technical degree or certification** in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Repair, or related field preferred.
- **3 years of experience** in off-road equipment maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine diagnostics and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Must be able to manage time appropriately and be proactive in addressing equipment maintenance and repairs
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with diagnostic software/tools.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
