Role Overview
Our client seeks a Finance Associate who will play a key role in the strategic & capital transactions team, primarily providing financial analysis & preparing presentations. This position involves creating & maintaining financial models to assess various capital options for the company. The Finance Associate will support with mergers & acquisitions, investor communications, board presentations, & capital transactions. They will also working closely with the financial planning & analysis team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of the company’s long-term strategic vision, ensuring alignment with business goals & market dynamics
- Collaborate with leadership to synchronize short-term & long-term financial planning
- Assist in shaping the company’s multi-year strategic plan
- Develop financial projections related to the integration of various business segments
- Conduct research to assess industry trends & the competitive landscape
- Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making
- Identify key risks & propose mitigation strategies
- Assist in securing financing by preparing materials for potential lenders & investors
- Manage transaction documentation & oversee due diligence efforts
- Coordinate with third-party advisors
- Validate key financial model inputs with internal experts
- Support negotiations by translating proposed terms into financial models
- Verify final agreements against projections
- Analyze & assess potential business growth initiatives
- Utilize financial modeling to evaluate potential transactions
- Assist in structuring deals & defining negotiation strategies
- Determine acceptable transaction terms
- Work alongside legal teams to finalize agreements
- Prepare presentations & materials for executive leadership
- Help develop clear & consistent messaging for investors, stakeholders, & employees
Qualifications
- Experience in a finance-focused role involving transactions
- Prior experience in investment banking or a similar position requiring in-depth financial analysis is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a numerically driven field
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Exceptional ability to build financial models from the ground up
- Familiarity with GAAP accounting is a plus
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Confidence in engaging with internal leadership & financial partners
- Understanding of equity & debt structures within renewable energy is preferred
- A general grasp of power markets is beneficial
