Position Summary:
The Senior Staff Accountant brings extensive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment, including general ledger management, accounts receivable reporting and collections, inventory control, and standard costing. Beyond financial responsibilities, this role actively partners with the Production, Engineering, and Customer Service teams to provide financial insights that support business operations.
This is a growth-oriented position designed to develop future Finance Managers and Plant Controllers, offering valuable experience in financial leadership and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key contributor to the financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Record journal entries with supporting back-up
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
- Manage intercompany transactions and prepare monthly reconciliation
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure reconciled items are cleared
- Utilize Epicor (ERP system) to record transactions and provide financial insights to support management decision-making
- Process accounting receivable and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Administer the AR collection process, resolving outstanding balances by reviewing customer payment plans and history; facilitate invoice payments by sending statements, reminders, and necessary documentation
- Handle customer billing and submit invoices to customers
- Maintain and reconcile metal inventory records and prepare monthly reports
- Oversee the new customer and vendor onboarding process
- Update standard costs annually (or as needed) in collaboration with Engineering, Customer Service, and Production; validate standard costs, analyze manufacturing variances and job profitability, and recommend adjustments to enhance financial accuracy
- Support ad hoc requests and improvement initiatives
- Generate and review financial and operational reports
- Prepare information required for external audits
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships between departments and with co-workers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree with either an accounting or finance emphasis.
- 3 to 5 years related experience in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Skills:
- Master of Business Administration, Certified Public Accountant, and/or prior public accounting experience preferred but not required
- Manufacturing and ERP experience strongly preferred

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
