Administrative Assistant

Location: Berkeley, CA

Pay Range: $35-$40

Full-Time, Onsite

Temporary (3-6 months)


We are seeking a seasoned Administrative Assistant to support the Office of the President of one of California’s top universities, where tradition meets innovation! This school is focused on student-centric learning, committed to transformative teaching, the pursuit of knowledge, and empowering students to make a lasting change in the world – and in this pivotal role, you can be a part of that mission!


As an Administrative Assistant, you will work closely with the President, Board of Trustees, and President’s cabinet to ensure the smooth flow of operations. You will handle a wide range of responsibilities, including administrative support, planning events, and contributing to the planning of Commencement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations of the President’s Office, receptionist duties, calendar management, travel coordination, and ensuring all correspondence is polished and professional.
  • Serve as a trusted representative of the President, embodying professionalism and poise in all interactions and communications.
  • Assist with correspondence related to faculty matters, including Rank and Tenure, sabbatical leaves, and leaves of absence.
  • Take an active role in planning important events such as Convocation and Commencement, overseeing invitations, degree orders, and event logistics with precision and care.


Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3 Administrative Assistance experience required
  • 3-5 years’ experience with administrative support, budget development, and event planning required
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and MS Office
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive, hospitable, and dedicated spirit
  • Experience working in higher education a plus
  • Experience in a secretarial role with 3 years of increasing responsibilities a plus
