General Job Responsibilities for DPC:
Facilities Coordinator– Chamblee and Alpharetta Locations
The Facilities Coordinator reports directly to the organization’s Facilities Director and is responsible for day to day activities, including staffing and scheduling. He or she must be lively, motivated, with strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. The Facilities Coordinator will lifeguard a minimum number of hours per week, therefore must be Red Cross Certified, Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid and will also become CPO certified within 2 months of hire.
The Facilities Coordinator oversees the safe and proper operation of the facility, including;
- Overseeing swimming pool operations - This includes training staff to chemically balance the aquatic facilities swimming pools, vacuuming the swimming pools, cleaning the pool tiles, cleaning of the facility decks, cleaning of the bathrooms, maintaining the pools circulation system, oversee cleaning and general swimming pool maintenance and all other aspects of running the facilities from a day-to-day perspective (including chemical feeder replacement and other minor maintenance).
- Maintain neat, clutter-free and professional appearance of all areas of the facilities (pump rooms, supply rooms, storage closets, pool deck, front counter, etc)
- Supervise all assigned lifeguard pool staff
- Coordinate monthly in-services and oxygen administration trainings
- Maintain staff certificates
- Ensure compliance of pool county codes and notify Facility Director of any issues immediately
- Coordinate pool parties
- Maintain correct chemical levels
- Ensure the front counter is staffed and all associated registration materials, membership tags, etc. are on hand. Maintain a professional appearance at the front counter (ensure that staff are well informed and able to communicate with patrons, answer the phone professionally, etc).
- Keep appropriate swimming pool records, employee evaluations, warnings, accidents, rescue and assists and first aid performed.
- Maintain program schedule literature
- Report incidents on USA swimming website
- Plan, organize, post and carry out staff assignments (i.e. maintenance/cleaning)
- Evaluate assigned staff; reviews progress and directs for improvement
- Create lifeguard, customer service, schedule on a monthly basis
- Covers lifeguard shifts when short-staffed
- Identifies facility maintenance needs by completing walk throughs on daily basis
- Complete service calls and follows up with those vendors. Obtains and presents quotes to facility director. Responsible for scheduling and meeting with vendors.
- Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the organization (Superior, Home Depot, Office Depot, etc.). Ensures motor vehicle is maintained and schedules/completes maintenance as necessary.
- Updates message board with key points and also any lane rentals that are on the schedule
- Respond to security system phone calls
- Manage customer relations with swimming pool patrons
- Work with a diverse group of people, providing excellent customer service and setting the example for his/her team. Consistently responds in a professional manner.
- Ensure all pool rules and regulations are followed closely, yet act swiftly and calmly to any emergency that may occur
- Monitor clock in/out system to ensure proper operation and report if it is not
- Inventory and order necessary supplies for the facilities (pool chemicals, paper products, etc)
- Delegates and participates in meet setup and execution as assigned
