Job Summary: A Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and processing the company's payroll. This includes ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, handling payroll-related inquiries, and maintaining payroll records.

- Process Payroll: Gather information on hours worked, calculate wages, and administer payments.
- Data Entry: Enter payroll data into systems and databases accurately.
- Compliance: Ensure payroll practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Issue Resolution: Address payroll-related issues and questions from employees.
- Reporting: Prepare payroll reports for management and finance departments. Process government reporting i.e. 941’s, 940’s, W2’s and maintain compliance.
- Benefits Administration: Knowledge of garnishments and benefits distribution.
- Experience: Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of payroll best accounting practices and fundamentals.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with payroll software and MS Office.
- Attention to Detail: Outstanding organizational skills and attention to confidentiality. Multitasking abilities. Good research and analysis skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with colleagues and executives.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus
- Certifications: Professional certifications like Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) can be advantageous.
