What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer II position at Dynavac?
The Mechanical Engineer works with project managers, manufacturing, procurement and other engineers and designers to conceptualize, design and analyze mechanical systems and components including pumping systems, thermal control systems and vacuum chambers. The Mechanical Engineer also prepares engineering schedules to ensure timely release of design documents to the manufacturing department.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Prepare engineering calculations, project specifications and procedures
- Review and approve design drawings and engineering calculations prepared by
Other Engineering Department employees
- Conduct design reviews and prepare design review documentation (Power Point
Presentations, Word Documents)
- Work with sales and estimating to prepare proposals and develop engineering
estimates
- Work with procurement to requisition long-lead and other BOM items
- Some travel to customer sites required
Level of Skill, Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Three or more years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- High vacuum experience a plus
- Knowledge of the following disciplines:

- Fluid mechanics
- Mechanisms
- Stress analysis
- Materials
- Automation and Machine Design
- Knowledge and experience – ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong computer skills

- AutoCad
- Cosmos
- Thermal Desktop
