Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Sports Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports and physical education, with the ability to inspire and educate students in various athletic disciplines. This role requires strong communication skills, behavior management capabilities, and the ability to work effectively with students of all ages. The Sports Coach will play a vital role in fostering a positive and engaging environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth.
Duties
- Develop and implement training programs for students in various sports disciplines, including but not limited to cheerleading, swimming, and karate.
- Conduct engaging practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Educate students on the rules, strategies, and techniques of each sport.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
- Manage behavior during practices and competitions to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to organize events, competitions, and workshops.
- Maintain equipment and facilities in good condition for safe use during training sessions.
Experience
- Previous experience in sports coaching or physical education is highly desirable.
- Background in lifeguarding or swim instruction is a plus for aquatic programs.
- Experience working with students in an educational or athletic setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to effectively engage with diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with gym environments and safety protocols related to physical activities.
- A passion for sports and a commitment to promoting health and wellness among students.
- Child/ Adult CPR /First Aid / AED a plus
- 5 hr Class Certificate in the last year Foundations in Health and Safety a positive
- Form 6004 Letter of Good Medical Health and TB test a positive
- DOH Fingerprinting a positive
